Lake Placid Lodge

Hotel Information

The Lake Placid Lodge, created by David and Christie Garrett, is a magnificent Arts-and-Crafts hotel located on the rim of magnificent Lake Placid, NY; with its seventeen elegantly rustic and romantic guest cabins and thirteen suites, it is the only hotel on the lake, set away from the bustle of town. Broad stone porches look out towards the woods, water and mighty Whiteface Mountain, fires blaze in the massive outdoor hearths. Every guest room has a wood-burning stone fireplace, a king-size feather bed crafted by a local artisan, rich textiles and antique furnishings, and a dazzling view of the lake. The stately main lodge is anchored by a huge paneled central staircase that serves as a gallery for a luminous collection of original Hudson River School paintings. The Lodge has a pub called Maggie's, beloved by locals for its cheery fire, good food, welcoming atmosphere and expansive porch seating. Artisans is the Lodge's restaurant that features fabulous, farm-to-table cuisine in an intimate, luxurious atmosphere. A dine-in wine cellar, private meeting rooms, a Map Room and many tucked-away places to sit and read make Lake Placid Lodge feel like a true Adirondack Great Camp in the woods.
